Terms of use
Using Tradeoff
These terms apply to the Tradeoff website (“Tradeoff,” “we,” “us”). By using the site, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site. Tradeoff is free and doesn’t require an account.
Projections are estimates, not promises
Tradeoff’s projections, trade verdicts, start/sit picks and suggestions come from a statistical model. They are estimates for entertainment and general information only. They will sometimes be wrong. Real games depend on injuries, news and luck that no model can know in advance. You are responsible for your own fantasy decisions.
Not betting or financial advice
Nothing on Tradeoff is betting, gambling, investment or financial advice. Don’t use it to decide bets or anything involving money. If you play paid or prize leagues, that is your own choice and risk.
No warranty
Tradeoff is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or that the site will always be available or error-free. Player data and projections may be late, incomplete or wrong.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Tradeoff and the people who run it are not liable for any losses or damages that come from using or relying on the site, including lost fantasy matchups, lost league fees or prizes, or lost bets. If any liability can’t be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid to use Tradeoff, which is zero.
Our content and fair use
Tradeoff’s design, text, code, projections, rankings, verdicts, stats presentation and other original content are owned by Tradeoff and protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. © 2026 Tradeoff. All rights reserved. You may use the site for your own personal, non-commercial fantasy football decisions, and you are welcome to share links to Tradeoff and to individual trades or start/sit comparisons. Without our written permission, you may not: copy, mirror or republish the site, its design or its content; scrape, crawl or otherwise collect its data or projections in bulk or by automated means; resell, license or redistribute our projections or rankings; present them as your own product; use them to build or train a competing product or dataset; remove copyright or attribution notices; or try to break, overload, probe or hack the site. We may block access and take legal action against anyone who does.
Data sources and trademarks
Player data comes from nflverse, which is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0). We have changed it: Tradeoff’s statistics, rankings, projections and verdicts are calculated from that data. The restrictions in these terms apply to Tradeoff’s own content; the original nflverse data stays available to everyone from nflverse under its own license. Tradeoff is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by the NFL, any NFL team, any player, nflverse, or any fantasy platform. Team and player names are used only to identify them.
Changes
We may update the site or these terms at any time. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using Tradeoff after a change, that means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
Privacy
What we collect
Tradeoff has no accounts, no tracking cookies and no ads. The players you pick are kept in the page address (the link) so you can share it. They are not saved on our side. To learn how the site is used, we use Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without storing personal information: it records things like the page, where the visitor came from, country, browser and device type, so we can see how many people visit and which pages they use. If you sign up for the newsletter, we collect your email address (see below). Your browser also remembers, on your device only, that you have seen the signup box, so it doesn’t keep appearing.
Newsletter and your email
If you give us your email, we use it to send the free weekly rankings newsletter and updates about Tradeoff and its tools, which may include announcements of new features or paid plans. Your email is stored by our email provider, Buttondown, which also receives your IP address when you sign up to help block spam. We never sell or share your email with anyone else for their own marketing. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete your email any time at tradeofffantasty@gmail.com. The newsletter is currently offered only to people outside the European Union, the rest of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland. To enforce that and to block spam, our server checks the country and IP address of a signup request and briefly counts recent attempts in memory; we don’t keep a record of them.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel may keep basic technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested) to run and protect the service. See Vercel’s privacy policy.
Children
Tradeoff is not aimed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If Tradeoff starts collecting anything new (for example, ads or other tracking), this section will be updated first, and the date at the top will change.
